This gentle, nurturing, workshop is an invitation to:
-Slow down and intentionally turn inward
-Come home to the healing wisdom that you’ve always possessed
-Quietly connect to parts that struggle to trust the compassion of Self
-Create space for the parts of you that long to be seen, softened, and supported
-Orient parts to the beauty and consistency of self energy
-Offer your parts the time and attunement they deserve even with the busyness of life.
Return to Self is designed for those with a basic understanding of Internal Family Systems (IFS) who are ready to deepen their personal practice in a safe, intentional, and self-led way.
Through guided invitations, reflection, and a gentle supported space, you'll be encouraged to drop into your own internal world — not to do, but to be with what arises.
You won’t be asked to share your process aloud unless you choose to. This is guided sacred time for you to be with your parts.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This isn’t a workshop about learning more about IFS — it’s about experiencing the calm, curious presence of Self and creating space for the parts of you that may be carrying pain, confusion, protection, or longing.
You’ll be gently offered direction and time to:
Settle into your internal landscape with care and curiosity
Invite connection with parts that want your attention
Observe what happens when Self-energy leads
Allow parts to safely express what they’ve been holding
Notice the tender space between you and your parts - where trust and care arise
Practice unblending from parts, without pressure to “fix” or resolve
Foster connection between Self to parts through the Eight C’s
You’ll engage in personal reflection, journaling prompts, creative connection, and inner dialogue.
You’ll be supported by brief teachings, grounding exercises, safe guidance, directive prompts, and optional small-group sharing to help integrate what you and your parts are learning.
Bring your beverage, snack, and comfy slippers. Pets are always welcome. This is your time.

Hi, I’m Tara.
I’ve been practicing Internal Family Systems (IFS) for more than 13 years, and in that time I’ve found that while we often focus on our parts, with their stories, burdens, and protective roles, it’s easy to lose sight of what we’re ultimately returning to: Self.
This workshop is a space to reconnect with that quiet, powerful place inside; the quintessential essence of our being that offers calm, clarity, and compassion. The more our parts come to recognize the steady, loving presence of Self, the more they begin to trust, soften, and heal.
I reside in the midwest. I’m a practitioner, writer, educator, and recovering coward. When I’m not with clients, you’ll find me with my many books, plants, and balls of yarn. Intimate connection with friends and family is my happy place; along with helping people find real, lasting healing. It’s a joy to walk beside others on this inward path. Clients describe me as compassionate, insightful, and witty—I like to think that’s true.
